Reflections from Soul Valley, Sardinia

Why I Love Leading Soul Spark Retreats

It’s been a few months since our Soul Spark Retreat at Soul Valley in southern Sardinia—but the memories, the energy, and the sense of connection from that week are still alive in me.

There’s a unique rhythm that emerges on retreat—a dance between stillness and movement, solitude and togetherness. And this one, co-hosted with the incredible Joan Hyman, felt especially powerful.

Arrival in the Hills of Southern Sardinia

Soul Valley is tucked into the quiet hills about an hour from Cagliari. The road leading up to the retreat center is a bit of an adventure—a winding, bumpy ride that gently shakes you out of everyday life before you even arrive.

By the time we reached the top, we were already in a different space. Nature all around, a slower pace, and a sense of exhale.

A Light-Filled Shala with Every Detail Considered

Our days centered around movement, breath, and being fully present in one of the most beautiful shalas I’ve ever practiced in.

It was spacious, light-filled, and surrounded by huge windows that opened out to the rolling Sardinian hills. Every detail was thought through—from mats and blocks to bolsters, blankets, and more—every prop you could wish for was right there, inviting softness and support.

It was a space where people could go deep—not just into postures, but into presence.

A Day on the Sea: Jumping Into Joy

One of the true highlights of the week was our boat tour.

We spent a sun-soaked day cruising the coast, swimming in turquoise waters, and jumping off the boat into the ocean like kids again. It was one of those perfect moments—carefree, open-hearted, and bursting with aliveness.

It reminded me how joy and freedom live right alongside stillness and introspection on retreat. You can have both. You should have both.

Community, Comfort & the Dolce Vita

From the moment our international group gathered, something clicked.

There’s a magic in sharing space with people you’ve never met—coming together across borders and backgrounds, and quickly forming a sense of trust, ease, and real connection.

We shared nourishing meals, laughed until late, and sank into the most comfortable beds (truly—the kind that make you sleep like a baby). The whole week felt like a soft, sweet version of the dolce vita, infused with intention.

Why Retreats Still Matter

This retreat was a beautiful reminder of what I always hope to create through Soul Spark Retreats:

  • A space where you feel safe to arrive exactly as you are.
  • A rhythm that allows your nervous system to settle.
  • A community where you can be seen, supported, and real.
  • And yes—a bit of adventure, fun, and magic woven in too.

You don’t need to be advanced in yoga. You don’t need to come with answers. You just need the openness to show up—for yourself, for the experience, and for what unfolds.

Will You Join Me Next Time?

If something in you is whispering yes, trust that. These retreats are so much more than a holiday. They’re a chance to come home to yourself.

And I would love to hold that space for you.

With love,
Tina
