Rishikesh Immersion

Practice, Study & Pilgrimage on theΒ  Banks of the Ganga with

Kino MacGregor & Swami Chidananda

Β 01–07 March 2027–Rishikesh, India

What Awaits You

Rishikesh is often called the birthplace of yoga, but more than that, Rishikesh is a living spiritual landscape.

Set on the banks of the Ganga and framed by the Himalayan foothills, this seven-day immersion brings together dedicated Ashtanga practice, Bhagavad Gita study, meditation, ritual, and sacred site visits, all within a refined Ayurvedic retreat environment that supports both depth and recovery.

Each morning begins with extended sādhana guided by Kino MacGregor. Mysore-style Ashtanga practice forms the foundation of the week, supported by pranayama, chanting, and meditation. The final morning includes a Led Primary Series and a closing conference with both teachers.

Afternoons are dedicated to study with Swami Chidananda, centred around teachings from the Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 15), practical philosophy, and open inquiry. Throughout the week, meditation sessions are woven into the rhythm of the days, allowing space not only to understand the teachings, but to experience them directly.

Beyond the retreat centre, Rishikesh itself becomes part of the immersion. We will have a group nature hike, a walk to Triveni Ghat, visit Parmarth Niketan for the sacred Ganga Aarti, explore the historic Beatles Ashram, and dedicate one day to pilgrimage (optional) and study along the way. These moments are part of understanding yoga in its living spiritual context.

This immersion is structured yet spacious, balancing discipline with integration, practice with reflection, and depth with care.

Your Teachers

Kino MacGregor

Kino discovered yoga at 19, embarked on a journey to India at 22, and crossed paths with her teachers, K. Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois. Since then, she has devoted herself to a daily sadhana of Vipassana meditation and Ashtanga Yoga, shaping her teaching around these two traditions. One of the few people to practice into the Fifth Series, Advanced D, she received Certification to teacher from K. Pattabhi Jois before his passing. With a prominent presence in the yoga community, Kino is the founder of Omstars.com, an author of seven books, the producer of the Yoga Inspiration podcast, and boasts a vast following on social media platforms, including over 1 million Instagram followers, 800,000 YouTube subscribers, and more across other channels.

Swami Chidananda

Swami Chidananda is a world-bridger, bringing ancient wisdom forward in a way that meets this moment. He carries profound knowledge of the Vedic traditions, and communicates them in a way that feels grounded, modern, and genuinely relatable.

Having previously worked in banking and finance before choosing the monastic path, he naturally bridges ancient wisdom and contemporary life and has a gift for making deep spiritual truths feel immediate, lived and often fun – rather than abstract and forced.

Holding the distinguished title of Swami, he was initiated in the Hari Bhakta Vedic Lineage. Additional information about Swami can be found by exploring his social media page on Instagram, @swami_chidananda, or by listening to his podcast, ‘The Path of a Swami.’

Scholarship

We believe in the power of Yoga as a means to create change within ourselves and through that the whole world. However, this is only possible if every single person on the planet has access to the practice regardless of financial means and economic status.

By offering one scholarship to this retreat, we hope to expand the reach of yoga to include a practitioner of a low-income, marginalized, and non-dominant community. Our intention is to help bridge the divide between the allocated resources in society and the desire for yoga.
